Hi Nancy, I'm at work now and don't have my info with me, so I don't have the dates, but LJ's name was actually Ellijay Kirkland. He was the son of Kiler and Alice Kirkland Kirkland (no typo, they were cousins). He may be listed in your files that way. His nieces and nephews called him "Uncle Jay". His first wife was Mary Laura McGovern, daughter of Thomas and Adeline Ricketson McGovern. His 2nd wife was Belle Hersey, and her parents' names escape me at the moment! On a side note Thomas's father Matthew McGovern was a poor irishman who came to this country and got a job helping build railroad bridges. He came over here with Patrick (?) Neugent. No slacker, he bought a farm in another county and was married there to his first wife. No children. He married 2nd Eliza Peterson, daughter of John Peterson. It has been said that Thomas McGovern gave each of his children a farm, which were all around the Broxton area. Hope this helps, since I'm doing it from this poor memory of mine. Now, I've gotta go and type some more birth certificates so I can go home and get back to all of you!! Melody > Hi Melody, > I don't have your L.J Kirkland anywhere in my database. Melody, Do you have a list of all the children of Kiler and Alice and could you send me same? I have some information on John Abraham, and I know about Ellijay "L. J.", but were there others? Thanks.
