Jeff, I saw the actual entry of the two that I sent! (Grass Valley Sutro, 24 1987 means that I ordered the film from the Sutro library in San Francisco and looked at it in my library in Grass Valley on that date!) "all rest born in GA" means that is what the census taker recorded. We can hope that is what they told him and that they know! So, I still need to know about the Census 1860 with Hampton P Tanner and Hester. It is possible that I could have typed the wrong year myself! I will try to look for my notes or the copy that I made and verify that. I will get back to you on that. I had not thought about ME making a mistake when I transferred the date to my computer. :) What you have said would certainly explain my confusion. I will go look in my files right now. Thanks, Jeff Jennie **************** >Jennie, >Here is what I have learned. This second entry in the Huxford source has >some "typos". It is actually the 1880 census record of Berry Hampton >Tanner and his second wife, Hester Ward.
