    2. I suppose when we go to place a new headstone on his grave, we'll all have to vote on the spelling of the name??<G> Anyway..Gail, Lula Tuten was his 2nd wife and I know she wasn't found in the cabbage patch. Back then, a lot of times, the men married women that were fairly near to their homes. I have one story of the marriage of Lula and Kiler (as told to me by his grandson) and if he first met Lula when she was sixteen then, I think this theory would hold up. Her parents would have most likely known him and lived somewhere near him and Alice. I just can't find out the names of her parents and I've been searching a good long while. Maybe I'm missing something. anyone have any other ideas? Melody > Yes, it seems it is spelled differently depending upon who you are talking to. Cuyler Kirland that married Alice (his cousin) was married a 2nd time - to Lula Tuten? and had four sons - June, Richard, James C. and Timothy J. > > Gail Kirkland > > > ==== GACOFFEE Mailing List ==== > Please visit the Coffee County GaGenWeb site at > http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/5941 > > ============================== > Visit Ancestry.com for a FREE 14-Day Trial and enjoy access to the #1 > Source for Family History Online. 3. I would be very interested in the "story" told by the Grandson. I have also been trying in vain to find "any" information on Lula. I get the feeling she was alot younger than Kiler. Why else would he leave a marriage of many years? Kiler is buried in the Kirkland Cemetery. Does anyone know where Lula is buried? She died in the 1918 influenza epidemic, in Coffee County.
