    3. Mary Douglass remarried to Benjamin Thomas after the death of John Tanner (John died between 1818-1820 in Emanuel Co.). I'm told that she had at least two sons by this 2nd marriage, Benjamin Jr., and perhaps Lawton? I haven't seen it myself, but am told she appears in the 1840 census, near her sons Berry Hampton, Robert Green, and Elijah Tanner in Telfair Co., living alone with 2 or 3 young children. Anyone out there know if you're descended from this 2nd marriage of Mary Douglass Tanner Thomas? Thanks, Jeff

    3. I have a much more recent Tanner mystery. My great-grandfather (who was estranged from my great-grandmother so not much is known about him) was named Wesley Bullard, b. about 1863 in Appling County. In the 1910 census (a year after my grandmother's birth) he is reported in Coffee County as living in the Warren Tanner household along with his two adult sons, Elias (age 20) and Frank (age 18). These sons were from his previous marriage. He died in 1936 and is buried in the Tanner Church Cemetery in an unmarked grave. I would like to hear from anyone who knows who Warren Tanner was; I'd like to find out what the connection was between my ggrandfather and Warren Tanner. If anyone knows who Warren Tanner was, or where the Tanner Church Cemetery is located, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks, Christy
