In Huxford's Pioneer of Wiregrass Georgia, Vol. I, pg. 271, in a write-up on Berry Hampton Tanner, he listed the 1850 census of Telfair County as a reference. Yesterday I looked through the published books on the 1850 censuses for Telfair and Appling counties and couldn't find him. The book we have at the library doesn't list a compiler or place or date of publication. It's called "1850 Census Records of Telfair County, Georgia." I think it was sold by the Huxford Genealogical Society. Does anyone know if B. H. was listed in the 1850 census, and if so, where? Thanks. Clyde
My friend who has researched him thoroughly can't find him in any 1850 census.
