Hi Melody....... It's me again :-) Mind if I ask about your Sears/Ricketson connections? I have several names that I can't 'tie into' any other families and am wondering if they might be some of yours. I have a Luraney Sears, born 1811 and married to an Allen Ricketson. No further data on Allen. Luraney's parents were David Sears and Levicy Nobles. I have David as being born 1791 NC/died 1889 Coffee Co., Ga; Levicy born 1792 Ga/ died 1868 Coffee Co., Ga. I show 14 children born to this couple. I show David Sears as having one brother named Harrison Sears, born @1799 and have their father listed as John Sears. Harrison Sears had a son named James Sears, born @1838. Somewhere along these Sears lines is a woman named Ella V Sears 1881/1946 who married my grandfather's brother Matthew M Fiveash. I have never been able to tie Ella in to the correct family. Another researcher has her listed as a daughter of William H Sears but this can't be correct because he also shows William H Sears as being born in 1873. If that date is correct, he could possibly be a brother of Ella but not her father :-) William H Sears, according to this same researcher, was a son of James Sears who was son of Harrison Sears. Confusing? Now you can see why I'm asking if you can help to clear some of this up for me :-) Now, on the Ricketson surname. I have a Josephine Ricketson, daughter of Bryant Ricketson and Nancy Smith. Don't have a birth or death year for Josephine but show that she was the first wife of David Kirkland (son of Joshua Kirkland). David was born/died in Coffee Co., Ga ...1869/1936. David and Josephine were married 2-4-1882 in Coffee Co., Ga and I have them with three children (Nancy, Ida and Josephine). After the death of Josephine Ricketson Kirkland, David then married Sarah Sallie Davis and had 12 children. Next I have a Harriet Riketson, daughter of Joseph Ricketson (no further info), who married Hiram Sears (1814/1901). I don't have any dates on Harriet nor marriage date, but show they had two children (Soloman and Elias born 1834 and 1835). Hiram Sears was also married to Margaret Mixon but I don't know who was the first/second wife. These are all the Ricketson people I have in my database but I'd really like to be able to tie them into the proper/correct families if possible. Take your time in answering.
