After the death of David Sears first wife Levicey in early 1868 he married Lavinia Stone in June 1868 and she was his wife until his death in 1870. There was no issue from this marriage. Lavinia made an application for a Federal Pension as a widow of an Indian War Veteran in the 1890s. In this application she stated they were married 6/8/68 and that David Sears died on 11/30/70. It was witnessed by Hiram Sears and Hiram Sears Jr..
