    3. Thanks Clyde for the info on Enos Burkettt. A few more questions if you don't mind. In POWG, Vol. 2 sketch on William Burkett, it states. "His will (William) dated September 12, 1857, was probated May 2, 1858, and bequeathed as follows: Lots 103 and 104, 7th district of Telfair, to his sons Enos and John Burkett; lot 402, 1st district of Telfair, to sons William and Jonas; home place to his wife, Rhoda, with all personal property, and after her death to son Isham. Burkett and daughter, Missouri Burkett." Now, why do you think sons Jonas and Isham aren't listed as his children's in the list of his children. Were they his children or not as the will says they were? Also, who are the parents of Delilah Burkett who married Rev. William Green Tanner? I thought she was a sister of Bartillery. Am I wrong? Do you have any info on her (dates and such) Would appreciate any help you may give me. Joyce

Were they his children or not as the will says > they were? Please don't ask me questions that I can't answer! Just kidding. I noticed that Huxford had included Williams will, but I didn't really read the names. I have not seen the will. I just wrote the he (William) had died testate. I thought I had extracted the 1850 census, but I looked just now and I don't have them. I must have copied the information at the library, without extracting, as I used to do. In other words, I'm just as puzzled as you are. > Also, who are the parents of Delilah Burkett who married Rev. William Green > Tanner? I thought she was a sister of Bartillery. Am I wrong? Do you have > any info on her (dates and such) William Green Tanner? You had me going on that one. He was a Taylor. To tell you the truth, I had not thought about Delilah being a sister of Bartillery. It makes sense. Bartillery had married a sister of William, so William could have married a sister of Bartillery. I wish Huxford had elaborated a little more, or else wrote up a sketch on William Green and his wives. Is there anything in the family files at the Huxford Library? > Would appreciate any help you may give me. Maybe next time. Clyde

    3. Who are the parents of Delilah Burkett who married Rev. William Green Tanner? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guess I had TANNER on the brain. Sorry about that, Clyde. I know it should have been TAYLOR. ~~~~~~~~~ I thought she was a sister of Bartillery. Am I wrong? 3. Some Burkett researchers may be interested in this note of Folks Huxford, written long ago. I found it in the Burkett folder in the Huxford Library. Compare this with the write-up on William Burkett in "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia" Volume II, pages 52-53. Enos Burkett, Sr., married first unknown. Married second -?- Dyal. Settled on Ocmulgee River and established Burketts ferry about 1800. Came from S.C. 1st marriage children: 7/19/1813 Bartillery m. Viney Taylor Robert moved to Middle Ga. 2nd marriage to -?- Dyal Children Enos m. Mary Monroe Bud never married (D.C.S.A.) Texas m. Sarah Ann Davis William m. Sarah Powers Dock (W. A.) m. Missouri Johnson Missouri m Wash J. Wright m. 5/6/'73 There was no mention made on that sheet about Delilah Burkett who married Rev. William Green Tanner. In the sheets from the Tanner file that I copied, they don't go back that far. Clyde
