I've cried tears of joy for days. According to the records you have, Annie Bell would be my grandmother's younger cousin. The census records I've located (1920 and 1930) have Annie Bell's birth year around 1919. Does this sound right to you? If I have the right Census Records, she would have at least six siblings including a brother Harvey and a sister Della or Vella, and a sister Emma who is shown on the 1920 Census, but not the 1930 Census. Possibly she passed away? I don't now why my grandmother is not listed in the Spivey book, but the other names are her siblings. I see the book was written in 1993. My grandmother Stella (Estelle) died in 1940 and any records about her are almost nonexistent. This may be why she is not listed. Stella married Calvin Merritt. Their children are in birth order: Al (1918), Allie (1920), Cy (1922), Max(1925), Rhoda Mae (1929), and C.W. (1934). My mother was Rhoda Mae. They were all born in Ware County. I was born in Atlanta, but then we moved to Californinia when I was very young. We used to go to Georgia every summer and I remember that we would always visit with members of Stella's family, but I don't remember names. I'm hoping that possibly your mother-in-law might remember my mother or grandmother. Could you tell me the names of Elitha and Jim Morris' parents? I have searched and searched. Also you mentioned that Jim married Mattie and she was full blooded Cherokee. I'm trying to trace my Cherokee line and you state that Mattie was a Tannner. Do you know if the Tanner that Elitha married was related to Mattie in some way? Or if he was Cherokee? If you can answer that, you will solve my family's mystery! It would make sence, since I believe it came from Stella's family and I can't find any connection on my grandfather's side. I can't tell you how much this all means to me. I was extremely close to both my paternal and maternal grandmother's (Calvin remarried), and Stella has always been the grandmother who died long before I was born, but because I was so close with my mother, I've always thought of her and wanted to know more. I only have one uncle still liiving (C.W.) and he was only six when his mother died. My mother was only ten-years-old, but she related stories to me. It would be great to find someone else who remembers her. My mother only had one picture of her and I recently uncovered another that has been lost all these years. Thank-you for everything! Your information has touched me deeply.
