I'm sure you know that B. H. Tanner, Jr., was his brother. John's tombstone in Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery does indeed say that he died May 1, 1900. (I just love it when dates conflict.) That church and cemetery is in a beautiful setting. Clyde
