I'll send the whole thing, so I'll be sure we're talking about the same one......... My g-g-grandfather. This even addresses Hardy as a Senior, so where is the Jr.? The Douglas Enterprise ... June 2, 1922 UNCLE HARDY JOINER, 82, DIED SUNDAY Mr. Hardy Joiner, Sr., died at the home of his son, Gaines Joiner, last Sunday morning, and was buried at the Harrell Grave Yard Tuesday morning. Mr. Joiner was 82 years of age last February. He leaves his wife, Janie, who was a Miss Harrell before her marriage. Also three children, Gaines, and Bettie, who married Frank Spivey and then Sellears Hersey, and Asa Joiner. He has two brothers, Bob and Thomas, the latter lives in Dodge county, Ga.. Mr. Joiner was a good soldier and went to the war from Coffee county in Company "C" 50th Georgia. He served all through the war and drew a pension for many years before his death. He was a member of the Baptist church at Harrell Grove. Many of his kin people and friends attended the funeral. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Dan Fales his pastor. Mr. Joiner was a hardworking, honest, good man. He was one of the Pioneers and helped to make Coffee county what it is. The old soldiers are dropping out rapidly, and soon the last Confederate soldier will be gone. The world will never see their like anymore. A Father in Israel has fallen, Another old soldier has "crossed over the river and is resting under the shade of the trees". Let us honor their memory and emulate the good in their lives. W. P.
