I know that there were times the paper misspelled the name Joiner/Joyner ( they did with my g-grandfather Joiner), which is the correct spelling here? Also I have Henry's mother as Nancy Jane "Janie" Taft (parents are Henry Mancil & Serena Taft) Did Nancy Jane go by Taft or Mancil, according to this obit it was Mancil. In the Atkinson Co. Cemetery Book the names are spelled Joyner. See below: Coffee County Progress ... Monday, August 10, 1970 Henry Joyner, 67, Rites Held Sunday Hardy Joyner, son of the late Hardy and Jane Mancil Joyner, died at Coffee General Hospital Saturday, August 8, following an extended illness. Born Jan. 27, 1903, the deceased was a native of Coffee County, and a resident of Pearson. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 9, at Wesley Chapel Church near Pearson with the Rev. Stalia Giddens officiating. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Carter, Douglas, Mrs. Virginia Bennett, Mrs. Marietta Corbitt, Waycross, and Mrs. Walter T. Stansell, Norfolk; two sons, Benny Joyner, Pearson, and Parnell Joyner, Ft. Gordon; a brother, Hoke Joyner, Pearson; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Carter, Waycross, and fifteen grandchildren. Interment was in the Wesley Chapel cemetery with Sims Funeral Home of Douglas and Pearson in charge of arrangements.
