Though I don't have a lot of information on the Ellen Roberts Hargraves Summerlin line (my family line is through Hardy Summerlin, b. abt. 1770 m. Penelope Collins; and his son David), I'm pretty sure the banker you're referring to is the banker that my folks always used and that I continue to use to this day (I'll include his contact info in a seperate e-mail for privacy purposes); he's descended through old Hardy's son Allen and his (Robert A's) grandmother was Olive Hargraves (I don't know, but I would guess it's probably the same Hargraves family somehow). He's the one who mentioned this old soldier buried in a local field. According to "Mr Rob" (as I call him), his Dad (or maybe Granddad) always told him that this fellow was one of his "Uncles" (hence my guess it might be one of old Hardy's sons, but I really don't know). And as an interesting side-note, you mentioned some Summerlins having married some Newberns. I've just recently come across this, which is interesting - my father (Julian Donald Summerlin, son of Willie Dennard, grandson of Solomon Asberry, g-grandson of William Thomas, g-great grandson of David, g-g-great grandson of old Hardy) married a Newbern, which is also tied into these same Newberns. It's amazing how the family lines can cross and then cross again (and again)! If I can be of any further help just let me know. Hope this helps, and good luck with your search!...
