A veterans sevice stone was placed at the grave site of Zean Kirkland in the old Kirkland Cemetary in Coffee Co. GA. It list his service with the 50th Ga Reg. Company "C" C.S.A, as well as him having been a prison of war. I hope to arrange an official service with the Sons Of Confederate Veterns to commemorate Zean Kirkland at a later date. ~~~~~~~~~~ This is wonderful news!!! It is located next to his widow Barbara Burkett Denton Meeks.[She remarried later to Hymerick Meeks] I hope to have a service commemorating Tom Denton at a later date with the Sons of Confederate Veterns. Tom Denton died May 11, 1863 of wounds received during the battle of Salem Church that took place on the last day of the battle of Chancellorsville,VA. Although his grave is unknown, a good possibility exsist that it is located in Fredericksburg, VA with the unknowns in the Confederate Cemetary there. The stone list his service with the 50th GA Reg Company"C" C.S.A.
