    3. Jean, sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I don't get on the computer like I use to, and have little time for my favorite hobby, genealogy. I did look thru the obituaries I do have, however I have nothing on Spencer Spivey. One day I'll get to retire or at least get a good assistant manager where I can take more time for myself and enjoy the visits to the library once again. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. 1. Re: [GACOFFEE] Brown, Collier
    2. I have searched for info on my g-great grandmother for a long time with nothing found. your post came to me through _gacoffee@rootsweb_ (mailto:gacoffee@rootsweb) . Her name was Jane or Janie Brown she married Jesse Hall about 1859-60. census shows her first child born in 1859 however family say they married in 1860. Jesse can be found in Clinch, Co. 1860 trading a lot of land in the 7th. district. nothing to indicate a wife. he is in the 1870 census with Jane and some of his children. Enoch, James, Joseph, Elizabeth, Preston, Rosette, Rose lee, Tally and Wess were his children. 1880 Jesse is not in GA. he is in FL. but Jane is listed as a widow. Jesse is listed as a widower in Fl. census 1880. He went back to GA. They might have had Wess after Jesse returned to GA. Jane had a sister Victoria who married a Mr. Henderson and they lived in Valdosta. Victoria is found in either 1900 or 1910 census living on Hill St. with her nephew Enoch. He is listed as head of house but it was her house. They might have had a brother named Alex. Victoria had one son called Cousin Brown by my dads family. He thought his name was Andrew Jackson but was not sure. He is buried at Springhead and all that is on his marker is Cousin Brown. No dates Enoch and his wife Janie Strickling, Hall is also buried there along with Preston Hall. Janie Strickling, Hall has a marker but no marker for Enoch or Preston. Do you have any info on these Brown girls. I was told that they came trough Clinch Co. by Wagon Train and stayed for a while and that Jesse carried the mail from Old Magnolia to Homerville or just past there and he met Jane and they married. I found Victoria living in the house of a Thomlinson she was not married at the time. I think 1870 or 80. I found her again with her son and his name was listed as A.J. Brown. he was a baby. I think the rest of their family went on to West Fl. somewhere around Calhoun CO. or this is what I was told by my dad and his sisters. and that they came from S. C. Thank you for your time Louise Hall, Hersey _EZfinder2@aol.com_ (mailto:EZfinder2@aol.com)

I wanted to appologize if the last message sounded hateful. I didn't realize it until I began to read it after I posted it. I have just been frustrated for over 8 years about all of this, and I should have done as people told me, "put all of your information together and let other people know." Well, years ago, there wasn't too many people that cared about family history, but know there are more people that do, and are asking the same questions that I have answered before, so that is why I have decided to finally compile all of my information and do this. About the picture. I went to the lady's house that the picture belonged to and copied it(I took a piece of paper and drew what the picture looked like and how the words were written on it.) My Aunt, who is another researcher for years, have always told me to look at everything. The words that were used as well as where they were placed tells something to us, as we all have ways of doing things...this is passed on generation after generation. This is what I discovered. Once again, I am sorry if I sounded hateful. I am actually a pleasant and fun person to get to know and be with. Thanks again. ~Michael

Surnames: Lankford, Mobley, Spivey,Hall Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.coffee/2190.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello. My name is Michael L. Wilkerson and I have done a lot of research on this line, as it pertains to my line. There are a lot of other researchers out there who have heard this story. I have went and spoke with the lady that owned the original picture, she has since passed, however I am in the process of finding the picture again to make a copy of the original with all the wording on it. You see here is the story, and hopefully everyone will read this and the confusion can stop! The lady is LouPine Hall who married Parish Lankford, Sr. The writing is NOT on the back of the picture but was actually written ON the picture itself. Some of the words are at the top, on the bottom, the right side corner and circles LouPine's head. The person that wrote this was her daughter in law, Sarah V. Tanner Lankford Royals. Sarah married LouPine's son, Hardy Lankford, who was killed in the war. She then married "Doc" Henry Harlow Royals and had several more children. The 2 children listed are Sarah's children, Marion and LouPine, as she began to write some things about herself on the picture as well. You can tell on the picture how it is written and where the words were placed the intent of the writer. Now you may ask, how does this relate to you? I am not sure who you are, but I am sure that you are related to me. I come through James E. Mobley who married Elizabeth Swindle. They were from Hinesville, GA. One of their children was my great grandfather, Henry Eli Mobley who married Mollie A. Spivey. It is through this Spivey line that LouPine is, as she is the great grandmother of Mollie as Mollie's grandmother was LouPine's daughter Salina who married Daniel P. Spivey. My great grandfather had a brother named Marion Albert Mobley who married Rachel Lee. This must be your line!!! If so I have found a new cousin which I am thrilled. I have nothing on Marion Albert's line. I have corresponded with a Jonell Harrison who comes through this line. I have a couple of pictures of Uncle Albert, as well as his mother and father and ancestors. I have contributed these on the Mobley website by Carl Mobley. I believe that Jonell has also contributed some of Uncle Albert on this site as well. Just how you are related to LouPine, I have no clue. Email me direct please and lets correspond and exchange information. I have heard talk of a Troy Mobley in my family but have never known who they were talking about. PLEASE BE AWARE!! The writing was Sarah Royals' NOT LouPine as she could not read nor write, however, she was Cherokee Indian but NOT from Nashville, TN as people have said. Her family came from Pitt Co., NC and moved to GA. I have never heard of her being "out west." To let all who reads this, I had a dream one night that Sarah Royals came to me and wanted me to understand and fix the confusion about the picture. For years I could not understand the writing, as everyone told me that it was LouPine that had written it, including the lady that owned it, but this was incorrect. Some people do not want to believe me, well, I have decided that they can believe what they want. Parish Lankford, Sr, LouPine's husband died in Coffee County, GA as well as she. As far as the money, Sarah had a pension that she drew from Hardy Lankford her dead war husband and she did hide this money, in her bra. Once again, Please email me direct, as I can explain a lot of things. I believe that I have found LouPine's mother as well, but no proof as yet. For years, people have said that the picture is actually Sarah Royals, but this is incorrect. It is LouPine Hall Lankford as said. Thanks, Michael daddysouthgenbug@aol.com If anyone would like to call me and talk about this either email or call me, 912-338-9594. I have a cell phone that don't cost on the weekends nor at night and I can explain and talk for hours with you about this line. I have been told by several researchers to complie a book or somthing to help with the confusion. I want everyone to know, that I have. I am now compiling a booklet that I will be donating to all libraries as well as giving to anyone that wants a copy of it on CD! Just let me know.

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.coffee/2190/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I recently received from my mother a copy of the xerox copy of the picture of LouPine Hall Lankford and a copy of part of a letter that accompanied the picture or that was written on the back of the picture. Her father gave her the picture before his death and said that this was his grandmother. I have gone over all the geneology listings that I have been able to find and cannot find the relationship between her and my grandfather. My grandfather's name was Troy Lincoln Mobley. His father was Marion Albert Mobley and his mother was Rachel Lee Mobley. The letter with the picture states that she was born May 2, 1813 and her husband was born March 4, 1814. She says she came to Clinch County in a covered wagon with her sister, Swango. She says that she had two children, a boy Marion who was 10 and a girl, Lou Pine, who was 8. She states that Lou Pine wed Richard Jewell, a Cherokee Indian. She left money to Marion and Lou Pine. My grandfather told us a story that my gg-! gf met her out West and brought her back to Georgia (she says that she came from Nashville). He died before she did and all of her property was taken away because she was Cherokee. There was a little bit of money that she managed to hide. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I believe this letter was written down for Lou Pine before she died by Sarah Royals. The picture that I have is a xerox copy of the one on the I-net. She says in the letter that it was taken May 2, 1865, and that she was 52 years old. Thanks.
