    2. Hey everyone, Long time no see....this last year has been a CRAZY one and my research time has been tossed to the wind!!! BUT....the wedding is over, guest have come and gone, the honeymoon is over and I have changed my name...thing should finally be getting back to normal now!!! However, I am sure I have missed ALOT of info that has gone by....so just thought I would drop a line to every one who might be connected to my HUTCHISON line....my new name is TOWELL and Matt and I got married on April 28th, 2007. Also, the SPIVEY family I think was very close friends/relatives of my HUTCHISON line as many of them signed my Great-Grandmothers guest book at her funeral. Let me know if your interested in any names I might have. Talk to you all soon! He lives in Glennville, GA and I managed to reach his ex-wife who is still in contact with him and gave me his cell phone number and said he is a land surveyor and I may have trouble reaching him but will call him this evening to see if I've managed to reach him. His name is Joe Davis and he and Van were raised in Elberton and his brother had played professionally, but she didn't remember the team. Anyway, hopefully, this is the one and I'll get to talk to him tonight. I'll let you know what happens. Babs mitherhen@aol.com. That's my email address if you want it. I assume it means he was drafted that year. The telegram is from May 9 1946 asking him if he'd like to "play next fall". http://cfreference.net/cfr/show_school_season/335?season=1942 I just received an email from a genealogist who called the Elbert County Library and gave me the name of Van's brother, Joe Davis, and his phone number. I've called 3 times since I got home from work but no answer or voice mail. This is getting so exciting! I really hope to find the family and that they would like the telegram. I don't suppose I'll ever know how my grandmother would have gotten it. Happy Birthday to your Grandfather. Wow!! 89. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
