    1. [GACOFFEE] KING in Coffee Co.
    2. jtgen
    3. James "Jim" KING moved to Coffee County from Laurens County, GA in about 1861. Around this same time, his son James "Jim" KING was born. The son, Jim, was still in Coffee County around 1900-1910. I am looking for information on any KINGS that were living in Coffee County during that time. Thanks, Joan Green Surnames: TANNER, TAYLOR, MEEKS, KING, HAYES, BRANCH, NETTLES

    3. This is a very interesting message...do you know that several people for years have been trying to connect Lewis with my John. I would like to digest this...and I have information to share to. ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Anderson To: D. Sjoberg Sent: Wednesday, July 05, 2000 6:00 PM Subject: Re: ANDERSON LINES George was born on May 11,1807 in South Carolina. Died Oct. 11,1903. I do not have a middle name for Zachariah or any of the other children except for Leonard. His was Monroe. I have quite a bit of information that was past on to me about the family lines. One is research that was done a while ago and it has George's parents as Lewis Anderson 1766-aft.1850 and Betsy Hervey. They had 5 children: a.. Jacob 1805-1878 b.. George 1811-1903 c.. John D. 1811-? d.. Amos 1812-? e.. Charles 1813-? Lewis Anderson parents were John 1735-? and Sarah Carney. Their children were: a.. Baily 1753-? b.. Scarlett 1756-? c.. Sela 1758-? d.. John 1759-1849 * This is who you referenced e.. Dorcas 1763-? f.. Lewis 1766-? All of this information is not confirmed. I am trying to find proof to document this line. I hope there is some sort of connection. Have you any information on these Anderson's and were I can get documentation? If not any guidance would appreciated! Thank you, Brian Anderson St.Petersburg, Florida

    2. melody
    3. Happy July Fourth everyone!! Can anyone help me sort out this Thomas line? We know Martha Ella Thomas (daughter of Aaron & Lydia) married John Abraham Kirkland. John Abraham's sister Alice Kirkland married Lonnie Baker. Lonnie Baker's younger brother, Arthur, married 1st. Lydia Thomas. (I don't know her parents) This particular family also has in it's possession a picture of Elmo Thomas. In looking at the 1880 Coffee census, I see Aaron and his family listed, but no daughter named Lydia nor a son named Elmo. Of course, they could have possibly been born after the census was taken. If anyone has any info on the Lydia Thomas that married Arthur Baker or Elmo Thomas, I sure would appreciate it!! Thanks, Melody

    2. melody
    3. Fellow Listers, Would any Kirkland researcher or Sirmans researcher have any info on this family, most particularly Patsy Rouse? In the early families of Berrien County by Tharon Griffin, page 98 says that her parents and birthplace are unknown. She married Jonathan Sirmans, abt. 1820 in Appling Co., Jonathan was the son of Josiah Sirmans. It then goes on to list their children. Martha had 3 children before the marriage to Jonathan. husbands are unknown: Melissa or Melissie Roland 2. Mark R. Watson and James Lemuel Kirkland Note all 3 children have different last names..does this mean that she was actually married 4 times?? He writes that her tombstone is in Empire Cemetery and has the following inscriptions: Patsy Sirmans 1787-1884 Mother of Mrs. Malissa Gaskins Mark R. Watson J. L. Kirkland Hardeman Sirmans Mrs. Rachel Bailey Mrs. Betsey White Mrs. Annie Giddens Abner Sirmans In another book the descendants of Emanuel Griner by Tharon Griffin it states that Rachel Griner married James Lemuel Kirkland on 11/20/1892. She was born 3/1875 and he was born 1/1871. The 1900 Berrien Census lists two children at that time: Hardy F. Kirkland b. 3/1895 Flora T. Kirkland b. 10/1896 I can't seem to find these Kirklands. Can anyone help? Thanks, Melody

    2. melody
    3. I received a message from Michael Wilkerson and he has some of the same questions that I do concerning this ancestor: He is descended from Lupina's daughter Salena and I descend from daughter Celia. Here's what we need help on: In the 1880 census records of Coffee, Celia has an Effie Jane Lankford living with her, and it listed this woman as "mother." Wasn't Celia's mother LouPine Hall Lankford who married Parish Lankford? Who is this Effie Jane. Also in the same census, LouPine was listed in her son's house Roan Lankford as Lupina. Roan is Celia's brother right? What do you have on Jane Lankford? Was she the daughter or sister to Parish Lankford? The oldest girl was Celia right, then who??? What do you have on this family? Is Jane Lankford, the one who married Reuben Jewell the sister or daughter of Parish Lankford? What and all do you have on LouPine Hall???? Anything....who was this Effie Jane??? Can anyone shed some light on this for us? Thanks, Melody
