    3. Melody, there is a good chance that the Marceline Kirkland that married William Wallace was the grand daughter of Hinton Kirkland. Marcyline (Marceline) Kirkland that married William Alexander Waters was my grand mother. Her brother Hiton married Piercie (Pearcy) Luciatia Waters, the sister of William Alexander Waters. My grandmother died when my Mother was very young and she knew more about her step-mother than she did her own mother. Of course you may know how it is when you are young, if you parents tried to tell you anything it goes in one ear and out the other. I would like for you to know even though the people you write about to others----Well I read them all. Sometime I remember hearing the name and tie it back to hearig my mother speak of those people. I really do enjoy reading all the messages on this site wheather they relate to me or not. You Guy keep up the good work. Always Clydie

    3. Grey Fox, I have Berry Hampton Tanner, Jr. Elijah Tanner, and Emily Tanner listed as brothers and sister. They are the children of Berry Hampton Tanner and Eliza Taylor. I have a John Wesley Tanner b. 1839 and Lydia listed as the children also. I'm sure someone else on the list has a more complete list of the Tanner family. They aren't one of my direct lines, but I've managed to accumulate some info on them. A couple of months ago, Mrs. Lillian Williams did a couple of articles on Stokesville and the Tanner family. (Maybe that's where I remember hearing about Tanner Church from). I save all the newspapers and I'll check them for you and everyone. I believe there was a picture of one of the Berry Tanners in the article. 3. Nancy, you probably already have this. Joyce, In looking at the Coffee County Cemetery book, I don't see a Nathan Grantham buried at Sand Hill, actually there aren't any Grantham's listed at Sand Hill. I did find a Nathan Grantham listed at Chatterton Church Cemetery. It just says Nathan Grantham 61 yrs, 10 mos, 11 days, (no dates) and he's the only Grantham listed there. Melody > No I don't. When I told Uncle Gerald this, He said his grave was supposed to be marked. That's all I can tell you right now. I'm going to the Wilcox Cem. Reunion in Oct. and hope to get some info. on this line. If I do, I'll be glad to post on the list. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Perhaps there's an estate record in Coffee Co. ~~~~~~~~~~There probably is if I could see how to search the records. Maybe someone one the list will know something. Joyce

    3. Joyce..... there are so many Elijah GRANTHAMS....don't know exactly which "Jr" you are referring to. IF it's the son of Nathan & Hulda (and brother to Linnie who md Wiley METTS)... then I don't know anything about him after 1900 Coffee Co census when he appears as an 18 yr old. Nothing further on him. If you learn anything please share. By the way.....about the 3 children of Nathan & Emma J. (TANNER) GRANTHAM....where did they live? Perhaps some of them might know about Nathan & Hulda's son Elijah. Do you have a death date for Nathan? Perhaps there's an estate record in Coffee Co. Full of questions, aren't I?? Well, enough. Nancy in AZ ----- Original Message ----- ~~~~~~~~~~~Nancy, is that Jr. of Sr.? I don't have Jr's wife's name. Joyce

    3. Clydie, You said Hamilton Cnty. I found a Marceline Kirkland married a William Wallace in Madison Cnty, Fl on 5/2/1872. There are very, very few Florida records in this book that I'm looking at. It's the Kirkland source book of Records. Refresh my memory, how does the Waters family fit in? Melody Marcyline and her > brother Hinton Kirkland. They lived in Hamilton Co. Fl when they > married back in the 1800s and I wonder if they didn't come from Coffee > Co. Ga.
