    3. Hi Clyde, I am showing 11 children for Kiler and Alice Kirkland. They are as follows: Mary Jane, born 10-27-1873; died 9-6-1875 John Abraham, born 4-19-1876; married Betty Tanner Ellijay, 1-27-1879; married Mary Laura McGovern Aleph (male ?), born 10-10-1880; died 10-5-1946 Marjorie, born 12-8-1882; married W.B. Williams Kiler Jr., born 4-20-1885; died 2-4-1933 Alice, born 10-14-1885; married Lonnie Baker Frank, born 5-5-1888; died 10-7-1889 David, born 6-22-1890; married Annie Southerland Elias, born 4-11-1892; died 3-22-1963 Annie Lula, born 12-21-1894, no further info Need some help myself. Somehow I've lost the dates of birth/death for Kiler Kirkland as well as his parents, Timothy Kirkland and Celia Lankford. Does anyone have this information? As always, let me say that nothing I have in my database is 'written in stone' meaning that I'm sure I have my share of mistakes. Anytime I post something, if anyone sees an error, please point it out to me so that I can make any necessary changes. 3. > #2 m. Serena ??? no dates on either. Joseph, s/o Timothy. Who is Serena and when was this Joseph born? Joyce, I gleaned part of this from the book on the Paulk Family and from Folks Huxford's books: Joseph Ricketson, son of Timothy and Bathsheba (Wilbur or Wilbora?) Ricketson, Jr., was born circa 1774 in Burke County, Georgia. He married Serena Foy July 17, 1806, in Tattnall County, Georgia. [Serena was born in the 1790s in North Carolina.] Their children include Allen; Sarah; Harriet; and John. Joseph died in Oct., 1820, in Montgomery County, Georgia. Serena was living in Ware County, Ga., during the 1830 census. She died circa 1856 in Coffee County, Georgia. I have some information on Sarah, Harriet and John. Clyde

    3. Hi Clyde.... I just 'resurrected' some correspondence from last year when you wrote to tell me about the family of John A. KIRKLAND and 2nd wife Betty "Shug" TANNER. Sorry, I didn't find it before placing the query. I appreciate your sharing the info, however, I am still searching for the identity of "Will ADAMS". There were 2 or 3 different "Adams trees" in Coffee Co, and I have been trying to identify and sort them for years. I've come a long way, and there are still a few illusive ones I'd like to link with their right family tree. So, I just keep 'asking' and hoping that someone with the answers will reply. Good luck, and thanks for all your help. 1. [GACOFFEE] Re: Musgrove Chit-Chat
    2. Nancy Parr
    3. Hi Miss Virginia :-) It's been some time since you and I corresponded. We moved from Valdosta to Columbia, SC last October and I'm just now getting back on all the different mailing lists. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Downing Musgrove instrumental in bringing telephone service to Homerville? I tried to call my mother tonight but couldn't reach her; I knew she'd remember alot of this. Here goes. I remember being a very young child and my parents and I lived with my paternal grandparents, Ivey and Alma Evans, in a house owned by Downing Musgrove on Thelma Highway (don't think it's still called Thelma Hwy). Mama was a nurse working for Dr. Robbins and Daddy and Grandaddy both worked for the telephone company. I've always been told this is why they were living in this particular house because Mr. Downing owned the telephone company and the house. We lived in that house from the time I was born until I was 3 years old but I vividly remember all the rooms in it :-) I also remember my grandmother dressing up like a man and sitting outside under the street light on a bench; this was to prove something to my cousin Ann Kaney and me. We'd probably been mischevious that day and she wanted to scare us :-) I also remember one night the circus had been in Waycross and Ann and I wanted to go badly but I guess we didn't have the funds to go, so her dad went outside and scratched on the windows, making all kinds of growling noises and Daddy told us that the tigers had gotten loose and they'd closed down the circus! Imagine...I can remember that :-) I do remember a family of Musgroves living either next door or two houses down from us. They had two teenage daughters but I can't remember their names right now (they might be Lyneath and Julie that you spoke of). The main reason I remember these girls is that they had a horse and we have a photo of me sitting on this huge horse when I was about 2 1/2 years old :-) They were really sweet girls; I can remember them coming over and playing from time to time. Granny would fill the washtub with water and that was my 'swimming pool' and those two girls would come over and get the biggest kick out of watching me 'swim' in my big pool :-) You have to remember this was in the early 1950's :-) You know that the road from Brunswick out to Jekyll Island is now the Downing Musgrove Highway. Someone said something about William Vernie Musgrove being in the turpentine business. It comes to mind that Uncle Walter Musgrove, son of Charles H and Jule Musgrove, was also in the turpentine business. I just remember seeing alot of trucks at his and Aunt Eula's house there in Homerville. Nice to talk with you again. If you can add further to any of this, I'd be most appreciative. I knew Mr. Downing and his wife Lyneath as well as their daughters, the eldest also named Lyneath, and I believe her younger sister was Julie. Mr. Downing Musgrove was a very well respected prominent citizen of Homerville, a fine attorney and very active in civic life there. V. Adams

    3. Diana, My apologies if I am asking you to send something you have sent to me previously. In all honesty I don't remember corresponding with anyone about the Sears families except Barry Weatherington but I have been known to have 'senior moments' along the way :-) My computer crashed last year and I've not fully recovered all my genealogy data as yet; all my sources were lost and I've spent the past year trying to document the sources again. Then last October we decided to uproot and leave our home of the past10 years in Valdosta and trek up here to Columbia, SC....not an easy task leaving family and friends behind ( Our youngest daughter is 21 and a student at VSU and didn't want to leave Georgia because she receives the HOPE grant that pays for her schooling.....SC has recently voted in an educational lottery but it will take some time for it to be implemented. Again, my apologies. As you can see there has been a good deal of Sears information on the list so I can use what's been posted without having you try and locate your file :-) My one question is still this...does anyone know who Ella V Sears belongs to??? In all the info that has been posted here, she hasn't surfaced. I'm beginning to think she may not even belong to any of the David Sears' families.
