Thanks Melody and Clyde. Maybe someone will have something on Enos Burkett. I have no idea how he connects to the Burkett's of Coffee County. Joyce
Connie, By any chance, are you any kin to Billy Rowe of Coochee, who married Kathlene Rowland? I need Billy's history and don't have it. Kat is my first cousin. Anyone out there kin to this family? Joyce

For anyone who is interested, there is a short two page article on The Wiley Byrd family in Volume 2 of the Cen-Silver books from Hazelhurst/Jeff Davis County. This article includes several nice photos of this family. The article is not very long and if anyone would like this information and doesn't have access to the book, I'll be glad to type it out. Just let me know. Luan Harper lyh@gate.net

Thanks Joyce, I'm inputting some data into my files and came across this note on Jonas Byrd, father of Wiley Byrd. From Huxford POW vol.2, page 56. "Mr. and Mrs. Byrd are buried in unmarked graves on the old McEachern place near the old Enos Burkett farm in Coffee County."" I don't see a sketch for Enos Burkett, but the finding list that I have only covers the first seven volumes, and not the last three. I have a mistake here.(?) Bertha Arrington married Wenlock Kirkland b. 11/30/1862-2/10/1936. They married on 9/25/1895 Berta Arrington married Jefferson Kirkland b. 10/25/1861-2/9/1926 THEY married on 9/29/1895. (Where do I get this this stuff??) are Berta and Bertha the same person? Are Jefferson and Wenlock the same person? I seriously need to look this up and correct it. Mel
Let's play the match game...... I have an Ida Arnold (no dates), daughter of Daniel Arnold. She married James Monroe Ricketson born 1858. I also have an Ida (Snap) Arnold (no dates) daughter of Daniel Arnold. SHE married Archibald Warren Miller, Jr. born 11/12/1863 Anyone have these families in their database? melody
Connie, John Abraham did indeed marry twice. His children were by Martha Ella Thomas. Betty Tanner (Shug) is buried beside John A. All three are buried in the Douglas City Cemetery. According to Shug Tanner Kirkland's headstone she was born 3/10/1888 and died 5/8/1942. That's all I have on her. I need to check with Ira Kirkland, John A.'s grandson to see if he has any other info on her.
