    1. [GACOFFEE] Anders/Andrews
    2. D. Sjoberg
    3. My family comes from the Broxton Area. The name Vera Andrews struck out at me as that was a name of a great aunt. However some of the other names that came with it did not ring any bells. Perhaps you could assist me in putting some this Andrews line together if it is the same. The Sears side which was my paternal grandmother side is pretty much sewn up. But the mystery comes from the Andrews side. Now in the Broxton area and near the Sweetwater church on a piece of land known as the old Tyler or Taylor place my grandfather farmed. William Henry Anders then Andrews b. mar 5, 1872 m. May 6, 1895 Lucy Ella Mathis b. Jul 1874. They are bur. at Reedy Branch Cemetery. They had these children: Cleon & Leon (twins b. Jan-2-1899) Cleon d. young William H. Jr. b. 1903 James Taylor (JT) b. Oct 2, 1905 Jack b. abt. 1907 Joe b. Nov 8, 1910 Quincy b. 1910 became blind Marvin b. 1914 Vera Mae b. 1915 Ethel b. Jan 1, 1921 Louella still living John 1927 William H. went by Anders on the marriage license. In the 1920 Coffee Co. Fed Census he was listed as Andrews. D. Sjoberg

    3. I would be very interested in the "story" told by the Grandson. I have also been trying in vain to find "any" information on Lula. I get the feeling she was alot younger than Kiler. Why else would he leave a marriage of many years? Kiler is buried in the Kirkland Cemetery. Does anyone know where Lula is buried? She died in the 1918 influenza epidemic, in Coffee County. 3. Diana and others, I've spoken with several 'direct' descendants of James Cuyler Kirkland and his middle name is spelled Cuyler (not Kiler), according to these folks. The best I can remember, there is a family Bible in one of the families and it is spelled Cuyler in this Bible. This James Cuyler Kirkland was brother to my gr grandmother Pearlie Kirkland and they were children of Joshua. This is a different man from Kiler (Cuyler) Kirkland who married his cousin Alice Kirkland. However, these same folks tell me his name was spelled Cuyler as the man above's name was spelled. I think it all depends on who you are conversing with as to how the name is spelled :-) -----Original Message----- From: D. 1. [GACOFFEE] Youngbloods
    2. Jeff Tanner
    3. Hey guys, I'm getting my forums mixed up, but has there been much discussion on the Youngbloods on this list? I've heard all my life that the Youngbloods have Cherokee lines, but most of the information I've found online says that is just a myth and most of the Youngbloods were of German descent. I, and I assume most of the Coffee Co. Youngbloods descend from Asa Youngblood, who I'm told appeared in the Irwin Co. 1820 Census (I haven't seen that one). His wife may have been Eliza. But his children were Elijah, b. 1824, Irwin Co, Mary, b. ca 1830, and Isaiah. Elijah married Margaret "Peggy" Davis, Mary married Raiford Metts, and I don't have anything on Isaiah. Anybody ever heard where Asa came from? I've also heard he may have left the area and gone to Alabama. Other tales are that he left his family and remarried and had a large number of children with 3 or 4 wives. But I have no idea where I got that from. The information I have on Raiford Metts is that he was born in Emanuel Co., 1820. There are a lot of Youngbloods who descend from the Emanuel Co. Youngbloods. They came to that area from the same area a lot of the Kirklands did in SC (Edgefield Co. or Old 96th District). That makes me think Asa might have come through that group as well, but I can't find anything about him. Would Asa have been his name or his nickname? If nickname, does anybody know what Asa is commonly a nickname for? Jeff
