    2. Nancy Parr
    3. Good Evening, Denah Skipper has been posting alot of her Kirkland findings to the lists recently and I want to thank her for sharing all this new information with us :-) Great work, Denah!!!! In the meantime, I've been digging around in Kershaw Co., SC and happened upon another set of Kirklands. Please take a look and see if you have any of these folks in your data. I have no idea if they 'tie' into the Richard Kirkland and Mary Snowden Kirkland lines so am not trying to 'fit' them in :-) Just want to find out who they are. 1-Daniel Kirkland; married Pamela Unknown; had land on White Oak Creek, Kershaw Co, Camden, SC. Will dated Oct 20, 1820; probated July 8,1828; sons named in Will: (a) Samuel and (b) Joseph who married Mary Unknown. 2-Samuel Kirkland, b 1722; d Feb 26, 1859 (79 years of age); married Unknown; children: (a) John, (b) William, (c) Daniel, and (d) Amelia Hester who married James J Dunlap 3-John Kirklnd, died October 1868; married Mary Vaughn . Children: (a)William Kirkland, a confederate soldier. (b)Daniel Peter 'Dan' Kirkland; confederate soldier with Kirkwood Rangers, Co H, 7th Cavalry. (c)Jesse Kirkland; married Rosa Truesdel, daughter of Edith Jones & Jesse Edward Truesdel, (d)Richard Rowland Kirkland, confederate soldier & hero. (e)Mary Caroline Kirkland; married Seaborn Jones Truesdel (6-22-1832/ 7-14-1896...had 10 children (brother of Rosa Truesdel above). I found two Truesdel/Truesdale researchers who had the above information on these Kirklands. If you remember, a few weeks ago I had posted information I'd found on Richard Rowland Kirkland ((d) above, also known as the Angel of Mercy of Marye's Heights during the Civil War. Thanks, Nancy E Parr

    3. I have Richarad Kirkland as being born 1765 and married to Hester Walker. The Kirklands are of Scotch descent and came to Coffe County from South Carolina about the year 1810. There were 3 brothers, a half brother and a sister. (Don't know where I got that!) Hester was married to Archibald Miller and had at least two children: Archibald Miller born 1809 and married Sarah Smith in Telfair County. They both died in Coffee County. Their second child was Benjamin Daniel Miller born abt 1811 in Bulloch co., Ga and died in Lowndes County, Ga and he was married to Martha Driver and they were married Dec13, 1827 in Ware County, Ga. I have that Richard and Hester Walker (later Miller) had 9 children. 2. denah skipper
    3. Hello Listers, I am planning a trip to the FHC here in Richmond next week.I will be asking some ?s of everyone before I go to improve my chances of finding some more info. Okay, first up:the Richard Kirkland above: 1)Is S.C. and the year 1765 all we know for his birth date?Does anyone have anything else? 2) I think most everyone agrees his wife was Hester.I have heard these possible maiden names:Walker,Tobler, and someone even mentioned Miller. I know that was her second husband's Archibald's last name,so I haven't given too much thought to Miller being her maiden name. Also does anyone have any clues to her birthdate, where and when she was born?I have not come across anything here or who her parents might be. 3) In 1786 Richard received a land grant in Effingham Co.Ga.Does anyone know what type of info is generally on these things?Could there be answers to some of the above questions on the land grant? Any answers, theories, musings will be appreciated!Thank You, Denah Kirkland Skipper _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
