    3. w/o Jesse E. Lott , d/o Thomas A. Currie The Coffee County Cemeteries 1837-1978 states he is the s/o William Lott (on addition & correction pages), I think he may be the s/o Jesse Lott 1850-1913. Does anyone have any idea??? Lourice OBIT: Coffee County Progress ... Thursday, December 14, 1939 Mrs. J. E. Lott Dies After Long Illness Mrs. J. E. Lott highly esteemed and prominent in church and club affairs, died at her country home Sunday night after an extended illness of several years. Mrs. Lott was born in Washington county, she was Miss Lalla Currie before her marriage, and the daughter of the late Elaine Jones Currie and T. A. Currie. She moved with the family to Broxton in 1905. She taught in several schools in the county, later teaching in the Broxton school where she taught until her marriage to Jesse Lott in 1908. She was endowed with superior gifts and graces. Her qualities of mind and heart fitted her for the many phases of life in which she entered. She is gone from this changing abode but her fruitful, fragrant influence is an ever-blooming, never dying flower, and only time and eternity can measure the fullness of the power she weilded in the hearts and lives of all with whom she came in contact. Frail beyond her years, for the past two years, it was significant that her outlook was always cheerful, always buoyant, and always helpful. It was marvelous how she managed it. The answer must be found in her indomitable courage, her steadfast determination, and her unfaltering faith in God. She was ever unafraid, and undismayed. She was a member of the Broxton Methodist Church, a member of the Woman's Club and a member of the State Woman's Christain Temperance Union. The Rev./ S. J. Brown, pastor of the Broxton Methodist church, and the Rev. I. K. Chambers, pastor of the West Green Methodist church read the funeral rites which took place in the Methodist church. The rare and exquisite floral offerings marked the expressions of affection held by many friends. The pall bearers were Jesse Newman, J. G. Traynham, S. C. Rogers, T. J. Smith, M. A,. Denton, and L. L. Denton. Besides her husband, she is survived by an adopted son, Evans Lott, his wife and four children, one sister, Miss Myrtie Mae Currie, a brother, Fletcher Currie, of Greenwood, S. C., and an only aunt, Miss Sallie Jones. She was buried in the Broxton cemetery with Tanner-Poindexter in charge of the funeral arrangements. My line is through two of William Holt Harrell's sons, Levi Holt (twin to Willis) and Charles. My father's mother descends from Charles and his father descends from Levi Holt. Photos I have: Levi Holt and Mary Jane (Willcox) Harrell. William Holt Harrell. There were more but they were destroyed in a fire in Fitzgerald, GA in about 1920. Only a few survived the fire. 1. Newspaper Transcriptions Online....Irwin / Ben Hill County - Free
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ic.2ADE/1042 Message Board Post: Hi, as most of you know Ben Hill County, Georgia was not created until 1906 and other counties which were cut out of old Irwin County. I am finding a lot of articles about people who live in the surrounding counties, such as Berrien, Coffee, Colquitt, Dodge, Dooly, Doughterty, Pulaski, Telfair, Tift, Wilcox and others in these old papers. The first transcriptions are online now and I am transcribing more daily. Each week I will load the latest transcriptions to the webpages where the newspaper transcriptions are located. Rather than only transcribe the highlights, marriages, deaths, births, and other vital records, I am also transcribing where people came from, where people moved to, where they worked, who they worked for. Did they add a story to their home, office building, did they attend a meeting. School room news is included, church news is included. Statewide information is included. Anything of historical, genealogical value is being transcribed. As I go along I am also photographing what images there are that would be of historical or genealogical value to researchers. Using a digital camera on a non glare film reader works fine if the lighting is right. In the late 1890s most of the images were drawings rather than photographs and there are not many of local citizens. However, in later editions I hope to find many of our ancestor's images online. If you have any copies of clippings from the Fitzgerald or Ocilla newspapers for the years 1996 to 1997 I would appreciate your sharing them with others as those issues are not included in the collection that has been photocopied and archived. Do visit the pages and if you find your own ancestors and the names are misspelled or if you have some family information to add don't hesitate to contact me as all family information, photos of your ancestors or of the landmarks is appreciated. It is nice to put a face with the names found in these articles. Did you know that Fitzgerald had saloons? Did you know that they had a beautiful opera house? That famous theatical acts came to town and people traveled from one town to another by chartered train cars to see the plays featured in Fitzgerald, Tifton and other cities where they had Opera Houses? Our ancestors did not lead dull lives but very full and interesting lives. Without cable t.v., computers and all of the modern conviences we have they may have not wanted to trade places with us if given the opportunity. What fun it is to travel back in time through these old papers. Hope you will enjoy what you find on the pages and will let me know if you approve. There are only 64 more rolls of film to go. <smile> http://home.comcast.net/~gholback/b_np.htm Kind Regards, Gloria

    3. Thanks, Lourice for that info. I show Joe's wife's name as "Rilza", but I see it is copied as "Rilola" in the Coffee Cem Book. 1. Benjamin Findley Blitch
    2. Findley Blitch (b. 1882 - d. 1921) was married to an ancestor of mine: Christian Eva Vining (b. 1882 - d. 1925) prior to 1903. Probably their first marriages. Im wondering if they had any children. Does anyone have Findley Blitch in their lineage who can help me out ? I have not been able to locate any dates or info on this marriage. Im assuming they divorced, b/c of his death date, and Christian remarrying to a Thomas Cady.
