    3. Hi Kathy, There are a couple of cemetery books available for sale. The library has one that is in a 3-ring notebook. It covers the cemeteries up until 1978. Jesse Paulk has done a new one recently and is hardback and two volumes. We are in the process of putting together a new cemetery book but this time we are focusing on names that were omitted for whatever reason from the previous books. If there's anyone that lives in or near Coffee county that would love to help with it, please stop in the genealogy dept. We would appreciate any help available!! We always need volunteers!! :) We have a number of projects going on and just need to find volunteers and the time to work on them. Thanks to Earl Chambers' father (Earl is the CC of Jeff Davis county GAGenWeb), we are putting together a book of Carter family obits that will cover Coffee, Atkinson, Appling, Jeff Davis, and Bacon. I'm sure there are a number of them from other areas also, but those are the one's that I've seen. We are also getting everything ready to publish the Coffee County Marriage records, both the Grooms and Brides books. Those should be out before the end of the summer, depending on our schedule. We are in the process of transcribing the Coffee County Death Index and will put that out. We have great ideas, it just takes time and the efforts of many people to make all of this happen. I'm probably the most impatient one of the bunch, too! Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions, you can contact me here or at the library, 912-384-4667. Also, don't forget to check out the library's genealogy web page at: http://www.coffee.public.lib.ga.us/genealogy.htm Take care, Melody -----Original Message----- From: southerngirl441 @hotmail.com [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, March 31, 2005 3:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [GACOFFEE] Coffee Cemetery Book Is there an actual Coffee County Cemetery Transcription Book in print that can be purchased ? 3. Good morning, Has anyone ever come across the community of Hokesboro and it's location? I can't seem to find it on any of the old maps of Coffee or the surrounding counties. I have an obit that says, Mr. Jacob Merritt, one of the oldest citizens of the county, (Coffee), died at his home near Hokesboro. Thanks, Melody
