I am searching for the parents of my gg-grandfather, Alberry Berkshire KILGORE, family group sheets states that Alberry was born Feb 22, 1843 in Marietta, (Cherokee?), Ga. His father is listed as Thomas Kilgore from NC, I believe his mother's maiden name was Berkshire? her first name may be Melinda ? Alberry married Margaret F. PREWITT in Gwinnet County in 1877, he was a Private in the 24th Reg. GA Volunteer Infantry in July 1864, no other previous or further records have been located as yet.
