I have a copy of the 1850 Cobb Co. census done by Rhea Cumming Otto and in it I found a Martiah?, John 35, SouthCarolina Riah Ann 33 F Katharine 15 Sarah 12 Lucinda 6 William 4 Eliza Jane 1 I would like to know if this surname could be MARTIN and if someone would look in the 1860 Cobb Co. census to see if the name is shown the same way or if it is shown as Martin. I am trying to locate a Jane Martin born abt 1850 that married John Clay Power and they lived in Arkansas, Little Rock Co. They were only married about a year and she died.
