Hartwell JONES, born about 1800, married Mary "Polly" Sloan Stribling who was born in the Pendleton District SC 6/4/1807 and died in Atlanta, GA 7/13//1847. They had 13 children: Hartwell Jones, abt 1822; Elizabeth Jones, abt 1823 m William/Willis Roberts; William Jones, abt 1824 m. Abigail unknown; Adam S. Jones, abt 1826 m. Zelia E.M. Jones; Mary A. Jones, abt 1828 m Hillard W. Winn; Thomas H. Jones, abt 1830; David Jones, abt 1832; David Jones, abt 1832; Susan Catherine Jones, 6/13/1835 m. Michael Berry McGee; Lucinda J. Jones, abt 1837; Rebecca C. Jones, abt 1839; Nancy Jones, abt 1841; Martha M. Jones, abt 1844; Matilda C. Jones, abt 1846. It is not known who the parents of Hartwell Jones were nor the dates and place of birth & death. It is known that he was in Atlanta, GA by the time of Mary's death in 1847 but where she is buried is not known at the present. Sometime after 1850, Hartwell Jones married again to Janie Elizabeth (last name unknown) and had 4 children: Harriet Jones, Johnny Jones, Ella Jones and Ida Jones. NO dates or spouses known at present. Hartwell Jones' wife, Mary Stribling's brother, Thomas Majors Stribling also married a Jones family member but it is not known how the two Jones families were related. Thomas Major Stribling's wife, also named Mary 5/3/1813 - 11/9/1867, was the daughter of Jabez Jones & Mary "Polly" Yowell. I am trying to determine who the parents were of both Hartwell Jones and Jabez Jones and also trying to locate any descendents of Hartwell Jones & Mary "Polly" Sloan Stribling Jones.
