In June of 1874 new post office open in Adamsville on Green & Howell Rd. It was later changed to Hemphill in 1885 & closed in 1904. Alston Hunter Greene HOWELL was its postmaster from opening to closing; Alston was the son of Isaac Howell of Cobb Co.,my 4th great grandfather. Would appciate any infomation about the post office,settlement or family of Alston.
