Richard was the child of Orruon and Elizabeth MATHIS. Marion enlisted in the CSA army on 11 June 1861 at Camp McDonald, serving in Cobb County's, Cherokee Artillery, Van Den Corput's Company. Fought at Vicksburg MS, captured on 4 July 1963, paroled 9 July. Captured again on 13 April 1865 at Salisburg, NC. Imprisoned at Camp Chase, Ohio until 13 June 1865. Richard M.
