Isaac Wadell was minister of in 1824? He married Marcus DeLafayette Heath and Mary Jane Whedbee, Nov. 1842. Also, did they have to have a marriage bond in that year? I am looking for the parents of both.
Where did the 1842 marriage ceremony take place? If they married in Cobb, you probably won't find a surviving marriage record, as our early ones were lost during the war. There's a Rev. Isaac Waddell buried in the Citizens' Cemetery in Marietta, but that one was born ca 1849, the son of Isaac Watts Waddell and Sarah Rebecca Daniels. His father may be the one who performed the marriage ceremony in 1842, but I have no idea as to his father's church affiliation, if any. As for the parents of Marcus and Mary Jane, it appears that an older Susan Whitba, age 65, born in NC, was enumerated in the household of Marcus and Mary Heath in 1850. I would suspect that she was Mary Jane's mother. Also in the household is listed an Eliza Ansley Whitba, age 32, born TN, who may be either a sister or sister in law of Mary Jane. The 1840 Cobb County, Georgia,census (Marietta District) shows: Susan Whitby - 1 free white male aged 5-10, 1 aged 15-20, 2 aged 30-40 - 3 free white females aged 20-30, 1 aged 30-40, 1 aged 50-60. I don't find a Heath family enumerated in 1840 Cobb who is a possibility for the parents of Marcus. Sorry. Sorry not to be of more help. Hopefully someone else on the list will be able to offer more.
