    3. I have no known connection to this family. It may be that it was Delia's mother who was married to an Attaway instead of Delia. From Cobb County, Georgia, Early Marriage Index: Vann, Burrell T. - Attaway, Lucinda - July 2, 1866 - Book A, page 34 1870 Cobb County, Georgia - Kennesaw District - August 3, 1870 497 - Vann, Susan, age 60; keeping house; born GA 498 - Vann, Berrel T. or S., age 34; farmer; born GA Lucinda, age 35; keeping house; born GA Thomas, age 4; born GA Luke and Louis, (twins), age 1; born GA Atway, Joseph, age 13; works on farm; born GA James, age 10; works on farm; born GA Nancy J., age 15?; born GA Edlie J., female; age 12?; born GA 1880 Cobb County, Georgia - Big Shanty District 991 - June 10, 1880 - page 85 142 - Vann, Burrell T., white male, age 56; married; farmer; self and parents born GA Lucindy, white female, age 46; wife; keeping house; self and parents born GA Thomas, age 13; son; at home; born GA; deaf & dumb; idiotic Lewis, age 11; son; at home; born GA Luke, age 11; son; at home; born GA Lela, white female, age 8; dau; born GA Robert, age 4; son; born GA DELIA, white female, age 1; dau; born GA Atway, James, white male, age 20; stepson; farm labor; self and parents born GA 143 - Vann, Susan, white female; age 65; keeping house; self and parents born GA From Cobb County, Georgia, Early Marriage Index: Cantrell, C. B. - Della Vann - December 24, 1895 - Book D, page 314 1900 Cobb County, Georgia - Big Shanty Militia District 898 - June 7, 1900 - page 202B 134 - Vann, Burwell T., head; Apr 1824, age 76; married/34 years; GA GA GA; no occupation; renting farm #71 Loucinda, wife; Jan 1835, age 65; married/34 years; 9 children/7 living; GA GA GA Thomas B., son; Jan 1868, age 32; single; blacksmith; GA GA GA Louis, son; Aug 1870, age 29; single; farmer; GA GA GA Jettie, granddau; Dec 1891, age 8; at school/2 months; GA GA GA Ataway, Luke, stepson, Aug 1858, age 41; single; day laborer; GA GA GA 135 - Cantrell, Charles, head; Aug 1876, age 23; married/4 years; GA GA GA; farmer; renting farm #72 Delia, wife; Jan 1879, age 21; married/4 years; 2 children/2 living; GA GA GA Rubie, dau; Apr 1897, age 3; born GA Orlando, son; Dec 1900, age 4 months; born GA In 1900, son Robert L. Vann and wife Martha E. were enumerated in Bells District in Cherokee County. Appears they brought their son back to Cobb for burial. From Cobb County, Georgia, Cemeteries, Volume II (the only Vann listed in either volume): Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery 2822 Hickory Grove Road, Acworth, GA 27492 - Vann, Samuel Lee - January 7, 1901 - January 13, 1901 - son of RL and ME Vann; baby From Cobb County, Georgia, Early Marriage Index: Vann, Louis - Nettie Thomas - July 25, 1909 - Book F, page 270 1910 Cherokee County, Georgia - Bells District - May 2, 1910 - Sheeet 10A, page 44 8 - Vann, Lewis, head; M W 40 Md 2/1 year; GA GA GA; farmer/general farm; renting farm # 8 Nettie, wife; F W 20 Md 1/1 year; 0 children/0 living; GA GA GA Lucinda, mother; F W 80 Wd; 4 children/4 living; GA NC GA Thomas, brother; M W 43; single; GA GA GA; blacksmith/repair shop (Robert L. Vann and wife, married 14 years, and family are enumerated at household #6, owning their own farm.) Not sure, but I believe that Burwell Vann was in Cass County in 1850 and in Paulding in 1860. In 1850 Cass, there was that Susan Vann next door (same as in 1870 and 1880) who I suspect is Burrell's sister, but Burrell had a whole different family and if it's the same guy, I can't imagine what happened to his wife and children prior to his marriage to Lucinda Attaway in 1866 Cobb County. In 1840, there's a Nancy Vann enumerated in 1840 Cobb County. She had three sons and one daughter. One male aged 10 to 15, two males and one female in the 15 to 20 age category. Because the Burrell Vann in 1850 Cass and 1860 Paulding had an apparent daughter named Nancy, I suspect that one of the males in Nancy Vann's household in 1840 is your Burrell. Here are some Vann deaths in Cobb from the Georgia Death Index. Lewis A. Vann died January 28, 1941, at age 72 Luke Vann died August 31, 1939, at age 70 Robert L. Vann died January 24, 1946, at age 70 Thomas B. Vann died September 7, 1950, at age 86 BTW, I did some research on the Lewis Attaway family many years ago when his grave was being removed from the Barrett Parkway area. If you have an interest in him, just let me know and I will see what I've kept.
