Can anyone on the list do this lookup for Robert at the courthouse? I'd be happy to, but am limited in where I can drive and what I can do nowadays, due to a recent sudden and severe loss of eyesight. Robert, if no one here can help, try the Cobb County Genealogical Society or the RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness) websites. Even though there won't be anything to find for events of the wartime years you need, you might want to request a lookup for something related. I am sure someone out there will be more than glad to help, hopefully for only the cost of copying fees. Sorry I can't be of more help, but do wish you much luck, Linda in Marietta ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert Alexander To: Linda Murray ; GACOBB-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, February 20, 2006 1:46 PM Subject: Re: [GACOBB] LOOKUP Grand Jury Docket or Indictment books thanks Linda -- Is there someone that that is willing do a lookup for me? I'd be willing to pay them. because of disability i cannot travel. If i could travel i would not be able to lift the books. thanks Robert Linda Murray <lhmurray@bellsouth.net> wrote: Robert, Of course, we have no court records prior to the end of the war, but the surviving early court dockets are there and easily readable. Or - should I say they were there the last time I went scouring through them for my own family's criminal doings. I've not been to the records room at the Cobb courthouse for so long, nothing may be the same as I remember. It's always an interesting search, however, whether you find your horse thieves or not. Good luck!
