Although Rachel reported she was a widow in 1900, it seems that her husband may have left her and remarried. Supporting this conclusion is the fact that Elisha L. Knight married Lillie Anna Reeves in Etowah County, Alabama on March 4, 1900 (note the Reeves in Elisha's household in earlier censuses). Also, you may be able to confirm Elisha's parents by checking his death certificate. He died June 1 1914 in Cullman County. Elisha L died June 3, 1954 in Walker County, Alabama.
