I am thrilled to get a response from this list. Thank you all so much. Here is why I ask. My great grand mother Sarah Hannah Copeland is my major stone wall. According to most and census she was born about 1880 give or take 3 to four years. Bad time to be born for research purposes!!!! The earliest I can find her is living in Alabama with her sister Mary born about 1874. who is married to a James R. Teague ( born Union county Ga.). Living with them is listed as sister in law Sarah H. Copeland age abt 16. This is 1900 Census DeKalb Alabama. This couple William and Sarah Copeland in Marietta just about fit the bill as far as the girls go. Or do you think I'm streaching to far? I was thinking since Sarah Teal you say was born in Alabama according to Census, that maybe One or both Wiiliam and Sarah died and the girls went to live with family in Alabama by 1900. I can NOT find one shered of anything on Sarah prior to 1900. And, naturally with out knowing the parents can't narrow Mary down. There is a large clan of Copeland's living in DeKalb county 1900 but can't say for sure they are any relation. Again, thank you so very much for your reply. I will follow your leads and perhaps track her down. Thank you, Thank you
