Hi, Jon. Just for experiment purposes, try keying into the search engine the YEAR only. From 1940 through 1952 there are only entries in the twenties, (as in 20 to 30 entries) Before and after that period of time, keying in the year brings up results which number in the thousands - a vast difference, which tells me that many thousands of death entries are missing for the years 1940-52 - unless the state as a whole had an extremely healthy twelve-year period. :)) Also, I agree re keying in county. Because of the major hospitals lying in Fulton County, it's always a good idea to check Fulton, just in case using home county doesn't work. Also, if you think your ancestor was a veteran, try Dekalb, in case they died in the VA hospital - in Decatur, I believe.
