    3. Only Union soldiers are buried in the Marietta National Cemetery. The men buried there died in all the battles of the Atlanta Campaign of the Civil War up to and including the Desert Storm war. There is a separate cemetery in Marietta for Confederate dead. It is not maintained with the same devotion as the other. I'm not even sure who funds its' upkeep. Jonathan A. I have the following information: William Norrice Humphrey b. 1840 Carroll Cnty, TN d. 7/20/1864 (Battle of Peachtree) b. Marrietta Nat'l Cemetery. It states on information that we have found that he was a Pvt H 31 MO. Inf. plot G 8087. Is there anyway to tell if he was CSA or Union? We are unable to locate information on this regiment. Thanks- Ted [email protected]
