    1. Cobb Cemetery Lookup Please....McEntyre (any spelling)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Ellison, Barrett, Gilstrap, McEntyre Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hc.2ADE/782 Message Board Post: Sorry if this is a duplicate post....I lost server connection when I clicked on post earlier..... I would be very thankful if someone with a copy of the Cobb County cemetery listings could look and see if there's a Mary Polly Sarah McEntyre (any spelling)? I've seen her first name as Mary or Polly or Sarah on various censuses....and don't yet know her maiden name..... She was born in 1814 in North Carolina, and married John McEntyre. They had at least 10 children, some of whom ended up in Cobb County, including Cele/Celia Jane (married John Ellison), Martha E. P. (Mattie), Lucinda Ellen (married Newton Moore Scroggs, Nancy Ann (married Joseph Kinsey Foster, and Jesse R. McEntyre (married Vasie/Matilda Sparks). In 1900, she is an 84-year-old widow living in Cobb Coutny with her granddaughter and family.....household of John and Rotha (Roxie) Scroggs Hunnicutt. They all live next to Roxie's mother and Mary Polly Sarah's daughter, household of Newton Moore and Ella (Lucinda Ellen McEntyre) Scroggs. I can't find her by the 1910 census, so believe she must have died sometime before then. Her husband, John McEntyre, must have died sometime earlier, but I don't know where's buried, either. He's last seen at age 84 in the 1880 census in Union County. Really do appreciate any info anyone can provide......thanks much.....Pam.

    2. I don't remember the name of the church, but if it was Baptist, microfilm of the church minutes should be in the library at Mercer University. They used to have a program wherein they would loan tapes to local libraries. 3. Virginia, I have this on the cemetery that Linda Murray sent me. Meredith, I don't see anything for Old Pleasant Grove in the most recent cemetery books. Davis Family Cemetery Located in Land Lot 459, District 16, on Davis Road, approximately one mile from Sandy Plains Road. The older section of the cemetery is covered in trees and undergrowth. There are numerous graves marked with rocks. (Surveyed March 1982) The above cemetery contains the same burials as the cemetery listed in The First Hundred Years as "Old Pleasant Grove or Davis Cemetery". Naaman Hardman is not listed in the newer Cobb cemetery books, but his marker may have been missed in the 1982 survey. I'm sure it was there in the pre-1935 survey as it's included in Sarah B. Gober Temple's First Hundred Years. Because it's described as being on Davis Road, you should have no problem finding it.
