    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Rice Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hc.2ADE/784.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for the quick reply: Yes, this is right Bailey/Baley/Baily Rice. He married Elizabeth Mahaffey 17 Jan 1839 in Newton County. He may be listed as Baley on William Rice's will of 1849. From 1840-1843 they had three children born in Georgia. After 1850 Baily disappears until 1862 when he petittions to get his son Thomas J. Rice's back pay. The petition is signed by a John B(ailey?) Rice. Thomas died as a prisioner at Camp Douglas, Illinois after he and two of his brothers were captured at Fort Donnelson as part of Co. G 14th Mississippi. 1860 John W. Rice, one of his sons, is in Winston, Mississippi. The two youngest sons are living with other families in Cherokee County, Alabama. I can't find Bailey in any other records. I am just trying to find if they lived a time in Cobb County, or if they had relatives who had. Another good samaritain (Named Linda) wrote: The "First Hundred Years" book states that Arthur and William Rice drew lottery land in Cobb early on, but of course, the county was Cherokee territory in the 1820s and early 30s.  I don't find them enumerated here in the 1850 census and find no marriage record nor burial listing for Bailey in the Cobb cemeteries books. Thank you both!!!

C. E. SUGGS IS BURIED SATURDAY Funeral services for Mrs. Maida Tuggle Suggs, 69, were held Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist Church of Barnesville with Dr. E. Nash Broyles, former pastor, and the Rev. Mr. Ernest Kendall, pastor, officiating. Burial was in West View Cemetery, Atlanta. Mrs. Suggs, the widow of the late Dr. Clarence E. Suggs of this city, was a native of Tallapoosa, Ga., but had lived here for the past 44 years. She came to Barnesville as a young girl and attended school here. Mrs. Suggs was active in religious, civic, and social affairs. She was a devoted member of the First Methodist Church and of the Weoman's Society of Christian Service, and its Circle No. 3. She gave much of her time and talent to church activities and will be missed sorely by those with whom she associated in church affairs. Mrs. Suggs was also an ardent member of the Willie Hunt Smith Chapter of the U. D. C. For a long number of years she directed the Children of Confederacy, and was chairman of the Essay committee. She served as president of the Chapter, also. Three and a half months ago Mrs. Suggs underwent an operation at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, the home of her only son, Clarence E. Suggs. She wetn directly to Mr. Suggs' home from the hospital and died there Friday morning. While there she received every loving attention possible, and many of her Barnesville friends visited her to let her know of their concern and love. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Alexander, Gardena, Calif.; her son, Clarence E. Suggs, Marietta; a half-sister, Mrs. Agnes Graves, College Park; seven grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. Haisten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 3. Bonnie, Volumes I and II of the Cobb Cemeteries books contain listings of all known cemeteries except for the military, which are included in Volume III. I only have I and II, and those two were published in 1984 and 1991, so neither are late enough to include your Bobby Joe Counselman. A copy of his death certificate should give you his place of burial, and with that, you might be able to find a volunteer, either on this list, or on the RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness) website, who would be willing to physically locate his marker for you, if he has one. Surnames: Ellison, Barrett, Gilstrap, McEntyre Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hc.2ADE/782 Message Board Post: Sorry if this is a duplicate post....I lost server connection when I clicked on post earlier..... I would be very thankful if someone with a copy of the Cobb County cemetery listings could look and see if there's a Mary Polly Sarah McEntyre (any spelling)? I've seen her first name as Mary or Polly or Sarah on various censuses....and don't yet know her maiden name..... She was born in 1814 in North Carolina, and married John McEntyre. They had at least 10 children, some of whom ended up in Cobb County, including Cele/Celia Jane (married John Ellison), Martha E. P. (Mattie), Lucinda Ellen (married Newton Moore Scroggs, Nancy Ann (married Joseph Kinsey Foster, and Jesse R. McEntyre (married Vasie/Matilda Sparks). In 1900, she is an 84-year-old widow living in Cobb Coutny with her granddaughter and family.....household of John and Rotha (Roxie) Scroggs Hunnicutt. They all live next to Roxie's mother and Mary Polly Sarah's daughter, household of Newton Moore and Ella (Lucinda Ellen McEntyre) Scroggs. I can't find her by the 1910 census, so believe she must have died sometime before then. Her husband, John McEntyre, must have died sometime earlier, but I don't know where's buried, either. He's last seen at age 84 in the 1880 census in Union County. Really do appreciate any info anyone can provide......thanks much.....Pam.
