I am searching for the burial site and tombstone information for James CHAMBERS, and Mattie Mashburn CHAMBERS. James probably died just before 1900 as indicated by my query posted in Cobb county which reads as follows: CHAMBERS, MASHBURN posted by Billy Wilson on 30 Sep 1998 Searching for ancestry of FRED JAMES CHAMBERS who was born at Smyrna, GA on May 22, 1890 [or 1894]. He was the son of JAMES CHAMBERS and MATTIE MASHBURN, born in September 1860. Fred had a half sister EDDIE WALKER who was born in August 1884, and a younger sister KATE CHAMBERS who was born in December 1898. By 1900 James had disappeared from records available to me. And, the rest of the family had moved to Fulton County Georgia. Thanks for your help, Billy R. Wilson [email protected]
Hi Everyone! Last week I got into a conversation on the Virginia Roots list about the circuit-riding preacher, Lorenzo Dow. Lots of us have a Lorenzo Dow 'Somebody' in our data. Since I have a lot of information about the 'original' Lorenzo Dow, they asked if I would post a web page about him. (He was born in 1777 and died in 1834.) Well, I ran home from work and put up the Lorenzo Dow page after supper! I hope you find it interesting. He was something! I can just see him jumping out of a church window onto a horse and riding away shouting that he would be back one year from the day! He did, too! The site is: http://www.acun.com/dentons The link to the article about Lorenzo Dow is about half way down the first page. I hope you enjoy the stories! Blessings! Sue Montgomery-Cook
I am seeking information on William BULLARD born in North Carolina in about 1799. He married a woman married Mary, I don't have a surname for her, and they raised a family in Cobb Co. Georgia. One of their children was Marion BULLARD born about 1841 and he married Rebecca BYNUM, daughter of Asa BYNUM and Elizabeth BYNUM. Elizabeth was the daughter of John BYNUM and Betsy CLOWDUS. I believe that John and Betsy were from Mississippi, but not sure. Betsy's parents were George CLOWDUS and Elizabeth ?. George was born before 1770 and died 1797/1800. There are also ties to Virginia. There seems to be a tie between William BULLARD and 4 brothers who first arrived in Mass. One of the sons of one of the brothers moved to North Carolina. I don't know where the connection is and it's irritating to say the least. I know the Asa BYNUM line but not the John BYNUM line. Any information on the CLOWDUS line would earn many thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
