    3. As my current access is limited to online records of Georgia, I'm looking for help and information about this WALKER/ SELMAN family on the 1850 Clarke Co., GA, census: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ga/clarke/census/1850/pg0052a.txt 6 733 733 Selman J J 40 M Tavern Keeper 1,500 Ga [James Jackson?] 7 733 733 Selman Susan B 35 F Ga 8 733 733 Walker Elizabeth H 17 F Ga X 9 733 733 Walker John 16 M Ga X 10 733 733 Walker Emeline 14 F Ga X 11 733 733 Walker William 12 M Ga X 12 733 733 Weaver Jacob 23 M Bootmaker Ga 13 733 733 Grubbs George W 21 M Bootmaker Ga This seems to be the family of William Walker Jr. who died Oglethorpe Co. Falling Crk district in 1842: Susan Varner CHRISTOPHER married to William WALKER, Jr. Oglethorpe ca 1830 William Walker Jr is the only son of William Walker and Sarah LAMBERT, born Oglethorpe Co., GA, ca 1803. Susan Varner Christopher is the daughter of John CHRISTOPHER and Elizabeth VARNER (dau of Matthew VARNER and Susannah HENLEY). Susan Varner Christopher and William Walker had the following children: Elizabeth Haseltine Walker, b 7 Aug 1832; John Christopher Walker b 26 Aug, 1834 - d 15 April 1900; Sarah Emaline Walker b 13 Oct. 1836; William Thomas Walker b 3 Feb. 1840. I assume that JJ SELMAN 1850 census is James Jackson SELMAN, the son of John SELMAN and Charity Biddy WRIGHT (b ca 1788 in Clarke Co., GA). Can anyone confirm this? See further information on this family at http://www.business4u.org.uk/realnames/Heritage-Site/Cole/1800A-B-4Wil liamWright.html Does anyone have a marriage verification for Susan Varner Christopher Walker and JJ Selman ca 1845/6? Does anyone know further information on JJ Selman? Or more importantly for me, of Susan and her 4 Walker children? Does anyone know anything further about the Clarke Co. Returns on the Walker orphans below? http://www.rootsweb.com/~gacogs/onlineresources/clarkereturnsandmixedr ecordsrtoz.html Index of Clarke County Returns and Mixed Records Books ABCD - JJ Walker Elizabeth H., orphan of William Walker N 370-374 Walker John O., orphan of William Walker N 370-374 Walker Minors of Thos & Julia M. Walker decd when died Julia M. Adams V 308-310 If I assume that Elizabeth H[aseltine] and John O[Christopher] are the children of Susan and William Walker, Jr., why were only two orphans of William Walker listed? Does this record document someone's death, such as the 1850 Clarke Co., GA, death of William Walker Jr.'s grandmother Sarah Lambert Walker? Can anyone provide details on the marriage of Wm T. Walker and Julia ADAMS in Clarke Co., GA, area ca 1854? Is this possibly William Thomas Walker, called Thomas [guessing here]? What happened to these orphans? See military record below. >From ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ga/clarke/military/civilwar/roster s/cok3.txt CLARKE COUNTY, GA - MILITARY - Civil War Co. K 3rd Regiment "ATHENS GUARDS" Walker, William T. - Private. June 10, 1861. Discharged, disability, August 19, 1861. Died of disease during war. No muster roll of this company of file in War Dept., Washington, D. C. from July 1, 1861 to April 1, 1863. Can I assume that this William T. Walker is the son of Wm Jr. and Susan Varner Christopher Walker Selman? Is he also the wife of Julia M. Adams Walker? Are there pension records for William T. WALKER's widow/orphans? Who are the parents of Julia M. ADAMS? If anyone is researching these families, I would love to share data and research duties. Most of these families (WALKER, LAMBERT, VARNER, SELMAN, WRIGHT that I have verified) came from NC to GA late in the Revolution or just afterwards. My WALKERs, VARNERs, and LAMBERTs were in Anson/Rowan Co., NC, at the beginning of the Revolution. Unverified before that. Anne Durham, NC
