She will be speaking on MIGRATION INTO & THROUGH NORTH CAROLINA. The Carroll County Genealogical Society’s annual workshop will be held Saturday, October 12, 2002, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Education Building, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA (just off the Square in Downtown Carrollton, near the Courthouse). For non-genealogy inclined spouses, there will be a car show in Carrollton that weekend too! Mrs. Warren has published many books, journals and transcriptions of legal records. Her books include early newspaper records, marriage and death records, jury lists, Whites among the Cherokees, Orange County, NC, Deed Records, The Carolina Genealogist quarterly (published 1970-1985), and the weekly genealogical magazine Family Puzzlers (published 1964-1997). Her topics for this workshop include “Settlers - Who Came, Why and From Where?”, and two sessions covering North Carolina records, starting with the pre-Revolutionary War period and continuing into the 19th Century. Tape recording will be permitted. Questions will be taken at the end of the afternoon session.
