Only three graves are marked, Hager Griffith, Sallie (Wife of Jesse) Smith, and Mollie Holbrooks. Approximately 100 unmarked graves are present. The latest marked burial was in the late 1940s. Many graves are probably 19th century. This property may have been part of the Thrasher Plantation. There was a community at the Tappan (Turpin) Spur crossroads after the railroad was built and into the 1920s to 1940s. Most local residents today are unaware of its existence. My interest is in documenting this cemetery via older (or younger) residents that may remember something about the cemetery and who is buried there before it is too late. Hager Griffith's inscription notes that he was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The closest current Mt. Zion Baptist Church is located to the north in Farmington. And who is Joe Radd? I would greatly appreciate any hel! p.
