It appears that we are, indeed, distant cousins. Ever since I was bitten by the genealogy bug five or six years ago, I have been researching my Riley ancestors. I have traced them back to 1754 at which time my gg, etc. grandfather owned land in the backcountry of South Carolina near Newberry. I will be glad to share any information I have with you, although I doubt you would be interested in information on the Rileys. Unfortunately, I have virtually no information about the Prathers. Let me begin by asking you for the source for your information on the marriage of John Riley and Lyndia. Second, does the information you have acquired show who John Riley's mother was.
