    3. It appears that Oglethorpe acquired some land from Clarke Co. in 1813 but that's about all I know.     3. I don't see it in my records. I thought that what we now know as Clarke was originally a part of Franklin and Wilkes. Greene was carved out in 1786. Oglethorpe was carved out of Wilkes in 1793. Jackson carved out of Franklin in 1796. Clarke carved out of Jackson and Oglethorpe in 1801. Madison carved out of Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Jackson, and Oglethorpe in 1811. Oconee from Clarke in 1875. If there were others, then it might have been small plots of land and not significant enough to signal a map change.
