I just received a book I ordered from Iberian Press... "These Men She Gave" by John Stegeman. It is the story of the Clarke county men who served in different regiments in the civil war. I live in TX and know little of the county and have just started researching the Bearden and Wilkinson families. There were mentions of some Beardens so that got my interest. The book gives the background of the local politics just before and after secession. In addition there are a number of excellent maps outlining battles these men fought.
