Hi Shirley, My name is Deanna Neely from Michigan. I am researching my Neely ancesters who resided in Athens, Georgia, Clarke County. Perhaps you could answer a few questions. I am specifically looking for the Date Of Death for a Peter Neely who resided on Fourth Street in Athens, Georgia. The last I see of Peter is in the 1920 Clarke County Census and Athens 1904 Local City Directory all of which was on the Internet. In that I do not have access to the Local City Directory I am unable to determine the last date he appeared. Could you tell me the names of the Black Funeral Homes that where in existence in the 1920's in Athens? As well as those who are operational today? Would appreciate any information you can provide.
