WILSON, GEORGE *SR ("Esquire") (Rev. War Soldier) b 1755 Dublin Ireland d 1823 Jackson Co. Ga. Researching the WILSON (WILLSON) Families of the surrounding Jackson Co. Ga. area, & the State of GA. "George Wilson *Sr." was one of the first earliest pioneer settlers who came to a primitivie wilderness area at Jackson County known as the "Groaning Rock Community". He helped to form the County seat of Jackson & he served 3 years as a Judge of Inferior court. He was elected as a delegate to the convention called to revise the Constitution of the State of Ga. where he at once became a leader & finally wrote & signed the revision. He also was a ruling Elder for the Sandy Creek Presbyterian Church. George Sr* married> Martha Gwendoline Gailey (a native from Scotland). They had 10 children. Both George Sr* and Martha are buried at "Groaning Rock" located on the origional William Dunson property. Note: G.J.N. Wilson (Author of the "Early History of Jackson County"-history book) was the Grandson of George Sr. I am a 9th Great Grandaughter descendant of George Sr. and Martha.
