I did not know if anyone might be researching their slave ancestors in Georgia, but thought that this might be of interest or help. Jeremiah was born in VA, served in the Revolution from Cumberland County, NC & married Sarah Johnson from Johnston County, NC. After the war he moved to GA. He lived in Clarke, Ogelthorpe and finally Newton County where he died 8/5/1842. I am not sure which county he lived in when the slaves were born. He lists in his family records: George born May 3, 1801, Phyllis born Jan. 5, 1796, and Mingo Aug 7, 1802. Also in his will Jeremiah lists a very old slave, named Sarah, who he made lifetime provisions for her upkeep. Also in the will it mentions that Mingo was a runaway. If anyone need copies of these please contact me. Suzi
