Greetings: I am compiling information for a book entitled: "Bibliography of Civil War Manuscripts in the state of Georgia." This book will list and briefly describe all Civil War manuscript collections held by organizations in this state. Due to the large number of such organizations, I cannot visit them all. I need a couple of volunteers to help me with Clarke County. The task involves visiting local libraries, historical societies and museums to check and see if they have any unpublished Civil War era letters or diaries. After that a brief description of the item is all I need. In most cases this entire process can be completed in an hour or two. All volunteers will be credited for their work in the foreword of the book. This work will be of great importance to historians and genealogist all across the nation.
