She was born ca. 1806 in Green County, Ga. Her father, Willoughby born 1759, a REV Soldier, owned land in Green, Clark, Wilkinson and other counties in Georgia. First Generation 1. Joseph (Josiah) PYRON. Josiah was born 18 Dec 1806 in Green County, Georgia. He married Elizabeth WILLOUGHBY, daughter of William WILLOUGHBY & Jerusha JONES, 12 Dec 1833 in Green Co. GA. Elizabeth was born 18 Dec 1808 in Green Co. GA. Josiah Pyron and Elizabeth Willoughby lived and raised their children in Pike County, Georgia. After the Civil War, he sold his lands in Pike and moved to Taylor County. The land he had in Pike County was rich land, good for farming. The Taylor county lands were poor, so timber was used as an investment. In the years that followed, he reportedly regretted selling the land and the move to Taylor County. He often expressed this displeasure to family members. He later became a merchant. Upon the death of her brother Robert Willoughby in Clark County in 1834, Elizabeth and Josiah assumed guardianship of Mary and Nancy and they moved to Pike County to live with the Pyrons. Josiah and Elizabeth had the following children: i. William Lafayette PYRON CSA ii. Aria PYRON iii Martha Susan "Mattie" PYRON iv. Emma Elizabeth PYRON Second Generation 2. William LaFAYETTE CSA PYRON was Born 29 Sep 1834 in Skull Shoals, Greene County, Georgia. He died in battle 31 Mar 1863 in Chattanooga, TN. He received his education at Bethany College, Virginia. He was a minister (Christian Denomination.) He never married and died of pneumonia during the Civil War in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 3. Aria PYRON was born 26 Dec 1838 in Erin, Meriwether County, Georgia and died 7 Jun 1867 in Erin, Meriwether County, Georgia. She married Capt., C.S.A. Thomas David SEAY SR., 26 Dec 1860 in Spaulding County, Georgia. Captain SEAY was in killed in battle on the 31 Dec 1862 in Murphresboro, Tennessee. . 4. Martha Susan "Mattie" PYRON was born 26 Aug 1841 in Pike County, Georgia and died 19 Feb 1888 in Pike County, Georgia. She married T.J. MARSHALL, 21 Nov 1869 in Taylor County. Georgia. 5. Emma Elizabeth PYRON was born 18 Apr 1854 in Pike County, Georgia. She married Rev. Ignatius GRIFFITH, 12 Dec 1871 in Taylor County, Georgia. Elizabeth Willoughby Pyron died in April of 1859, in Taylor County, Georgia. After her death, Josiah married a second time to Sarah Elizabeth POWERS. They were married 15 Nov 1860, in Poplar Grove, Oglethorpe County, Georgia. Sarah was born 29 Apr 1828. Her father, the Rev. Nicholas H. POWERS came direct from Dublin Ireland to Georgia and was a Methodist preacher. She was very proud of her ancestors. She had an Uncle who was a Governor of Georgia. (Governor Gilmer) the Meriweathers, Taliaferros, Strothers, Powers and others were relatives.. Josiah and Sarah had seven children. Martha Emily Mary Caroline Albina Louie Sarah Gilmer Albert Cambell Charles Louis Josiah died 22 Nov 1882 in Taylor County, Georgia.
